We are excited to present at the (e)merge art fair again this year! Like last year, our booth will host an exhibition of Pleasant Plains Workshop Resident Artists. This year’s exhibition features: Anthony Dihle, Kristina Bilonick, Chris Haughery, Beth Hansen, Danielle Scruggs, Martine Workman, and Ann-Marie Van Tassell.

We’ll also be hosting an eclectic mix of artist-run programming all weekend long – including some guest spots and off-site events in collaboration with groups like Playback the Tape, and  LAND via the 5×5 projectSee below for the full rundown:


During opening night festivities, Resident Artists, Beth Hansen and Ann-Marie VanTassell will be producing a varied-edition screen print on site based on imagery of the Capital Skyline Pool. Prints will be available for purchase right off the wall (once they’re dry!). get opening night tickets here>>

Join us for two hours of short-length vhs happy hour surprises presented by Playback the Tape! Stay for a minute or for the full show, as we present a curated collection of vault favorites and rarities. Text Before Texting – a drop in handwriting workshop

Join Resident Artists, Danielle Scruggs and Martine Workman for a drop-in workshop that reminds us to appreciate the written word! Supplies will be on hand and feel free to bring in a favorite quote, note, or lyric to transcribe. We’ll have some source materials for you to peruse for inspiration.

Artist Brendan Fowler hands off the second curatorial iteration of his six freestanding wall sculptures to Baltimore-based collective, Rock512Devil, as the sculptural walls become a platform for their artist selection and a series of performances, music, and screenings.  Participating artists and performers include Peggy Chiang, Bryan Collins, Max Eilbacher, Amanda Horowitz, Kelley Mcnutt, Sexoesthetic, and Marisa Takal.SUNDAY 10/5, 1-3PM

3pm: Dan Colen’s Performance, Livin’ and Dyin’

Please join us for Livin’ and Dyin’, a performance by artist Dan Colen that takes the form of both monologue and dialogue simultaneously.  The audience is invited to follow Colen, Roger Rabbit, the Kool-Aid Man, and Wile E. Coyote as they walk throughout the National Mall testing the power of clichés and other pop cultural referents in much the same way that one would test a battery or an apparently unresponsive body for signs of life.
