THE STUDIO VISIT hosts an art critique and open forum at PPW on Wednesday, April 27th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Moderated by Karyn Miller, Director of Visual Arts at Cultural Development Corporation (CuDC)
The Studio Visit is a blog that takes readers inside the studios of artists in DC, nationally, and abroad. They also host a monthly art critique and forum featuring local artists in a wide range of mediums and in different stages of their career. The monthly sessions are held in different spaces around the city, and Pleasant Plains Workshop is excited to co-host in April.
There are two slots left for artists to present their work to the group and partake in a discussion led by Karyn Miller.
Artists interested in presenting work should email email@example.com with images and/or a link to their web site by April 13th. Selected artists can bring in physical works (or works in progress) or they can bring images or video clips on a disk. Presenting artists will receive a gift card to Utrecht.
Space is limited, so those interested in attending should also email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a spot (there is no fee to present or attend)

Mesh Sesh’ is a chance for screen-printers to get together and share knowledge. Each month a few presenters will share new techniques, tricks, software, tools/gadgets and the like. Presenters can also pose a question to the group if they are having a particular challenge they need help with. It’s also a chance to network with other screen printers and ‘talk shop’. To launch the first discussion , PPW resident artists Kristina Bilonick and Anthony Dihle will explore some non-computer based methods of creating screen imagery such as painting with screen filler and making photo-grams using every-day objects.
Novices welcome. Space is limited, so if you’re interested in presenting or to just attend, email: email@example.com(there is no fee to attend or present).
Most days of the week, Anthony and I are tinkering away in the studio- working on new projects, doing custom jobs, and experimenting with new materials.. On Saturdays, we open our doors to the public so you can see what we’ve been up to and so you can scope out our wares! Posters, tee shirts, original artworks, vintage clothing, and more..
Also on Saturdays we sometimes have guest artists perform, host trunk shows or have drawing sessions.. each week is different. Stay tuned for our upcoming event calendar. To receive emails about our events, sign up by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
here are some snapshots from Saturdays of yore:
here are some snapshots from the opening of our current show, ‘FLURRY’. The exhibition features works by member artists of Project Dispatch and resident artists, Kristina Bilonick and Fire Studio. ‘Flurry’ closes this Saturday so come by for one last look! (Sat hours: 1-6pm)
Also, join us for an exciting collaboration with the local art group, Project Dispatch, on Saturday, December 18th from 7-10pm. Make your way to ‘the plains’ for an art sale and holiday soiree featuring works by Project Dispatch Members and PPW resident artists, Anthony Dihle (Fire Studio) and Kristina Bilonick.
There will be a lot of small, original works available for that budding art-collector on your shopping list. Project Dispatch also offers nifty artist subscriptions so that you or your loved ones can receive works of art by mail!
Come by ‘the Plains’ on Sunday, November 21st between 1-4pm and see the new digs, try your hand at screen printing, enjoy some refreshments and check out our wares.
We’ll also be unveiling our first art-window installation by DC artist and designer, Billy Colbert.
We highly recommend having brunch at Soul Vegetarian Cafe next door to our shop beforehand (their brunch runs from 11am-3pm and is TDF!).
